LUIS CERCÓS (Madrid, España, 1965)
I am an specialist conservation architect and engineer specialized in heritage buildings, project management and material analysis. With over 24 years of experience in the field, I am specialized in the alteration and adaptation of heritage buildings using both historic and modern technology.
I am writer and college professor on the theory, history, practice and philosophy of intervention in historic buildings and places.
I have designed, managed, supervised, and/or executed more than three hundred interventions in the architectural heritage or on cultural assets. Among them: Palacio de la Música (2008-2011, Madrid, Spain); Monastery of Yuso, (UNESCO World Heritage Site, 2007-2011, Spain) and the future headquarters of the National Monuments Council of Chilean Government (Pereira Palace, 2012-2015, Santiago, Chile).
Working experience with Latin American countries (Cuba, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Uruguay). Speak/read/write fluently in French and in Spanish (native from Spain, Europe). Avanced level of Portugues (I have lived in Brazil). Read in Italian, Catalan and Galician. Upper intermediate level of English.
Work and residence documents granted in Spain, European Union, Chile, Argentina and Brazil. Right to work in European Union countries (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and United Kingdom); Chile and Southern Common Market countries (MERCOSUR full members: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela); MERCOSUR associated countries (Peru, Colombia, Ecuador and Suriname); and New Zealand and Mexico (observer countries of MERCOSUR).
